The Royer Labs RSM-1 Shock Mount is engineered specifically for use with Royer’s R-121, R-122, SF-12, and SF-1 microphones. This mount employs a specially designed polymer to ensure maximum isolation from mechanical noise and vibrations, keeping the microphone firmly in place and eliminating any tilting issues, especially in horizontal setups. Additionally, the RSM-1 is compatible with any cylindrical microphone that has a one-inch diameter. Previously, the AT-84 was the go-to shock mount for Royer Labs microphones, but it showed a propensity for microphone tilt with longer models like the R-122 and SF-12, particularly in horizontal placements. Over time, the AT-84’s elastic bands could stretch, reducing its effectiveness. Responding to feedback for an improved design, the RSM-1 offers enhanced performance, ensuring solid microphone positioning without the risk of tilt. It also prevents the microphone from being accidentally dislodged towards the floor. The RSM-1’s design allows for the microphone to be mounted facing either forwards or backwards, providing flexible setup options and superior isolation, addressing and surpassing the limitations of previous models.
